NYMAC 2016 Fell Champs Update
A big summer of fell racing has seen a lot of activity in the club. This update includes: Cock Howe, Roseberry Topping, Bransdale, Borrowdale, Ben Nevis and last but not least out own Uphill Mile fell races.
Lots of great performances but a special mention to Kev McCloughlin for some great category and an outright win, likewise Di Jobson and to Jeff Belt for taking on Borrowdale (along with Di) and Ben Nevis! Points well earned. Some new names too, especially in the women’s, make this our most keenly competed championship since I’ve been compiling it.
So what are the scores on the doors? Di has moved into the lead in the women’s ahead of Kirsty and Maria. In the men’s Eddie still reigns supreme but he’s got all his counting races in and Jeff still has two more to add so is in a good position to challenge should he do the Langdale which he did with me last year and if he gets a good cat result at Eskdale. Bryan, Kev, Julian and Mike can still also improve their scores significantly. So still all to play for!
