NYMAC 2014 Fell Championship Update
Here are the complete standings in the men’s and women’s competitions after Guisborough 3 Tops. Another strong performance by Kev McLoughlin in 10th saw him move into the lead in the fell championship. Solid performances from Stef McLoughlin, Mark Potter, Julian Barwick, Paul Lyons and Phil Hughes-Narborough saw them all make good ground. Meanwhile Caroline Graham scored an age category win and move into second place in the women’s competition. Di Jobson has already wrapped up that competition and it very much looks like it’s just a matter of who will be second and third, Caroline or Viv Murphy.
The Pathfinder result still isn’t available so I can’t be absolutely certain but with just the Eskdale Eureka race to count in December it looks like only Eddie Meehan or Gary Thoms can prevent Kev winning. That’s still a real possibility as Kev has the maximum 6 counting races in now and can only improve his score marginally. My failure to make the start line at the 3 Tops put paid to any faint hopes that I had and reigning champion Bryan Saysell also failed to show so can now only make 6th at best.
