Lakes weekend
Some club members have just returned from a weekend of running and cycling in the Lake district. This was the clubs 4th visit to Patterdale hall who do a brilliant job of looking after us.
The plan now is pretty much set in stone with most gathering a an afternoon run from around 3pm, unless your Mark Brown who always likes to be late. Gently does it was this years brief so a trip to Aira force did the trick.

Once we have had our runs, the plan is to grab some food in one of the local pubs. This is my least favourite part as i don’t really like to drink too much…….

Saturdays are our long run days, though this year some people brought their bikes and rode instead. The main group managed 60 miles of tough climbs with a further 3 doing 70 miles. The runners, well we just ran up Helvellyn!
We did have another group out who ran either half or Ullswater to then get the Ferry or the full loop of 21 miles. Both runs were made harder by the weather being so nice

Saturdays are normally dinner in the hall and to the pub, last year we introduced a quiz which returned this year which again worked very well. The only slight change was some of us went to watch the first playoff game for the Boro….we wont say anymore about that.
Sunday mornings are when you feel your legs tired, and your quads can’t take the stairs! It also the last chance we get to run so out we go again. Some do what we did on Friday and take it easy, others just don’t do as many hills as Saturdays, but when the weather is still been kind to us its great to just be out.
