Introduction to Fell Running – meeting points and routes for April

All Mondays, all start at 6.30 all last for around 1 hour

7th April            Meeting point Guisborough Rugby Club.  The route will follow the start of the Guisborough Moors Fell Race route as far as Percy Rigg.  Then we will head back taking in High Cliff so in effect we’ll be doing the first 3 miles and the last 2 miles of the race route with 1-2 miles in between.  The race is one the 13th April so it will give you an idea of what the conditions are like, should you want to have a go!

14th April          Meeting point Pinchinthorpe Car Park near the visitor’s centre.  We’ll follow the Pinchinthorpe Plod route which is just over 6 miles and has 900ft of ascent.  It goes over Hanging Stone via Roseberry Gate.

21st April          Great Ayton Tourist info Kiosk – in the little free car park not too far from Suggits.  We’ll do a slightly extended version of the New Years Day race route.  6.5 miles, 750 ft of ascent

28th April          Carlton Bank Top nr Lordstones.  We’ll follow a slightly extended version of the Carlton Challenge fell race route in preparation for those who might want to do the race on 7th May.  This would be a good starter race for those new to fell running as it’s only 5 miles long and route finding in the main is quite easy.

If these go well I’ll put another series of runs on for May.
