Congratulations to Nigel Briggs for winning the 2019 club fell championship. He narrowly beat Di Jobson & Anthony Harnett. This was on the back of good performances at the local high scoring races Bilsdale, Guisborough Moors & Blakey Blitz as well as completing the Langdale Horseshoe.
David Hughes & Mark Edwards were tied for third in the men’s competition.
In the ladies Di beat Kirsty primarily because she competed in the Bilsdale race which had a lot of bonus points, and Kimberley was third.
Although not fell races there was also some excellent ultra performances (on similar terrain) throughout the year with Shelli leading the way with the Spine race, a short 268 mile run up the Pennine Way, in winter!! 😳
Kirsty & Bri Laverick did the Lakeland 100 and Hardmoors 110 respectively.
And Paul ‘Lightning’ McLean cruised to victory in the HM60 despite spending all the race lifting his top to counter the September heatwave 🤣
Jeff Belt.
