Spring Coast 5k, Redcar, 22nd April

This was an extremely fast race and was won by a very quick under 20 female from Shildon, Kate Avery, in 16:13mins (4th overall). Marie Stansmore was seen as a flash of orange in those bright racing shoes and finished a very respectable 7th in 18:51 (club record for 5k). Following not far behind were Jayne Parkin (20:18) and Sharon Gaytor in 20:12mins (and betters her own standing club record for the F40 category).

6 Mermaids

6 NYM ladies entered the Mermaid 10k at Marske on Good Friday 10th April which was just enough to form 2 teams (the only club to do so). The 'A' team were beaten by 1 point into second ladies team by a strong team from Loftus. Had the total time of the 3 been used to rank the teams rather than placings we would have won!! - More training needed.
The ladies 'B' team were ranked 7th.
The six were: Marie Stansmore (finishing second overall) and a new club 10k record of 39:23, Jayne Parkin, Diane Jobson, Sharon Gaytor, Kath Blakey and Georgie Hill.

10 Ladies racing was actually 12 ladies racing!

Caroline Pollard and Sharon Gaytor were also out in their NYM vests on 5th April and did very well coming 1st and 3rd ladies respectively in the Derek Jennings (Formerly Blubberhouses) 25mile race.
