The North York Moors AC 'Tees Forest' trail races are held at local countryside sites across the Tees Valley which aim not only to highlight the venues but to promote healthy outdoor exercise. The races take place on woodland or grass tracks at a variety of countryside sites around The Tees Forest and are approx. 5Km in length.

The races are open to anyone 15 years of age or over and attract a wider variety of different ability runners and we are always supportive of encouraging novice or less experienced runners to participate to promote active lifestyles.

Once again another excellent turnout at Newham Grange Leisure Farm. Fortunately for the athletes the bull was safely secured in it's pen! In the men's race Jim Bulman took advantage of Paul Lowe's absence to record the victory in what was his first race in the current series. In second place Gary Grounds turned the tables on "young pretender" James Askew who had beaten him  for 2nd place at Pinchinthorpe. This time, sandwiched between Gary and James in 3rd place, was Mike Jefferies, with arguably his best run of the series so far.

Within the ladies section, which is almost as numerous as the mens nowadays, Dawn Richardson comfortably recorded her 2nd victory of the series. In 2nd place was Kath Aspin, with Katie Simpson 3rd just one place ahead of Jayne Parkin.  In most age group categories, both male and female, there is good strength in depth this season. We saw a particularly close finish between three different age group category leaders, when Sue Milburn just edged out Alison Carter and Pam Costello.

The next race is at Hemlington Leisure Centre on Thursday 27th May. Hope to see you all there. After this race we will publish current series placings.
